Hand-knit Porn

Nothing like some Sock Smut first thing in the morning!!

This is what I worked on at the beach yesterday (when I wasn’t people watching or reading).  The pic is a little blurry (sorry), but you get the idea.  Thasss right, Jaywalker anklets, yeah baby…thasss whaa I  talkin’  ’bout.  Mmm-hmm.

I’m using Claudia Hand Painted Yarns in “Circus Dancer”…  Fingering weight, 100% Merino….  It’s so nice….squishey and soft….ooohhh….I LOVE IT…  Size 1 needles (the new Addi Lace/Sock, which are vera, vera nice)

I also want to bitch for a moment….  Yesterday, we went down the Ocean (Ocean City, MD for those whom aren’t local)…walking along the Boardwalk I spot this sign that says “Salty Yarns”….  I was like WHOO-HOO!!!!  Boy, was THAT a misnomer…well, not quite a true misnomer, there were a few balls of yarn in there….a few lonely skeins of Lopi and some Lion Brand novelty stuff (a total of prolly 25 balls)…  I asked a lady working there where the rest of the yarn was and she said, “oh, we don’t really carry much yarn, that’s it right there (pointing to the sad selection)”.  So, I said, “Wow, the shop name is really misleading. I expected more yarn at the “Salty Yarn” shop”.  She looks around and says “well, we have all the sewing stuff….”  Mind you, the shop is packed with cross stitch and needle point paraphenalia…  I didn’t want to agure with someone who apparently had no clue of the difference between Knitting and Cross-stitch….Yarn vs DMC Floss.  So I smiled, nodded and when on my way….  What a bummer.

Well, I should get myself around… I have knitting to go to this morning and I still have bed head.

Happy Knitting,
H.

  1. Actually, the name of the shop makes sense if you look at it… well, if you tilt your head and squint your eyes and look at it… then you can see that it’s named that ’cause the yarn’s all salty at being the only yarn there! ;>
