This concludes this announcement.

So…back to the job hunt, again… This is the third time in 4 years that I’ve had to look for a new job… I’m beginning to take it personally.  The problem with finding a new job is my school schedule.  It has to be a day job, so retail isn’t an option.  I simply can’t tell a retail job that I am not available to work any nights…it won’t fly.  Also, because of what I am in school for, most office jobs will shy away from hiring me because they know I won’t stay.  So, another temp job would be cool.  Also because of school, I really want to work in York.  That way I’ll be able to work Mon – Fri.  As it is now, working in Baltimore, I have to take Thursdays off because of Avery’s band practice schedule.  There is no way he could get me up to school and get back down to Towson in time for practice, let alone all the lessons he teaches before practice even starts.  So….York would be much better.

I am a little depressed, I must say.  I was really hoping this job would just keep going until I was done with school… They work with my schedule and pay enough to keep me afloat, even if I have to tread water a bit.  Not that I love the job… I don’t.  I’m not cut out for office work, which is the reason I’m in school.  But, it’s convenient. ::sigh::  Oh well. 

So here I am, down to three days a week, which, according to the unemployment office, makes me too much money to qualify for partial aid.  I make $44.00 a week over the limit.  $44.00…really?  Bastards.  So we’re also back to a budget that would make the most frugal of us light-headed. 

I could get my shop back up and running except that I have no money to replenish my supplies.  So…what’s a crafty girl to do?  Answer: Anything I can.

I have a ton of fabric, so I’ll make some simple project bags, as long as my sewing machine cooperates…it’s been testy the last few times I’ve tried to use it.  I have beads, so I’ll make some stitch markers. I still have a few pounds of roving, so I’ll dye that and perhaps even spin some to sell.  I also want to start making some hair accessories and get them in there… Perhaps I’ll paint some nail art for glue-on nail sets…(great for a night out!).  I paint them and all you have to do is glue them on top of your nail! Bang!  Instant nails!

This will give me some time to get caught up on things around home, too.  My closet looks like a bomb went off at a Goodwill…and my “studio” looks like an infirmary for boxes and garbage bags that are puking craft supplies and yarn everywhere.  It’s time to sort and clean and organize to hell and back!

So…wish me luck and if you know of any job openings, toss me the bone!!  LOL

So, if not the usual, then what fresh hell am I bringing you today?? Hmmm???

Nope, no hell…just taking a moment to sing the praises of a weekend totally free!!! I have no plans, no where to go, nothing that I HAVE to do (except maybe some laundry)… I may………MAY……..even dye some roving up for the shop…may…no promises…depends on how lazy I feel. ::wink:: Don’t get too excited, it may not happen…

Avery and I really need some “us” time. We’re not getting a whole lot of that now. Maybe we’ll go poke around some antique shops or load ourselves down with a bunch of books from The York Emporium… (If you’re a book lover and you’ve never been…GO NOW… So much fun…just wear a coat…it’s not heated very well!!)

I could possibly even see a trip to Ikea happening…tho, I’m thinking I don’t wanna drive that far…

I don’t even care if we don’t leave the house!!! I’m just glad for some down time!! : )

I am sad to report that very little knitting has happened… I am either working, in school or running around on the weekend trying to get the things done that I don’t have time to do during the week. No rest for the wicked, eh?

Frank hat is on hold…regrettably, until next year. I have some tweaks that I want to make and it’s just not gonna get done in time for a Halloween release this year. I’m disappointed in myself for not getting it done and I feel like I have let Erin down. Bummer. But I simply cannot kill myself for it. I would have to sacrifice even more sleep to get it done and I can’t… I’m not getting enough as it is. ::sigh:: It is what it is.

I literally have nothing new to report. Nothing finished, nothing new started, no progress at all…oh no, wait…a single crochet-tbl cowl out of cheap-o on-sale Lion Brand yarn…yeah…really. SUCKS.

Quick!!! Someone throw a pity party for me please! I’m desperate.

My Beekeeper’s Quilt is taking a brief pause until I can decide if I really want hexi “puffs” or if I want hexi “flats”. I can’t decide if I want the puffy quilt effect or if I’d be happier with a blanket-style…a Beekeeper Unstuffed, if you will. Hell, it may just become a hexi-scarf instead of a blankie! LOL

I am still plugging away on the sleeves for Avery’s sweater…it’s slow going… I am working both sleeves at the same time and the cable pattern has a different row repeat than the increases…you should see my chart to keep track of where I am!! Holy cow!! I really wanted to have this done for this season, but I didn’t factor school into the end-time equation. I really didn’t realize that school would suck away so much knitting time!! Grr. At least he’s mostly stopped dropping hints…mostly. I can’t say I blame him… I started it in April of LAST year!!

Any Holiday knitting in the works, you ask… ROFLMAOPIMP…um, no. I’ll survive vicariously thru other people’s knitting!!!! How about you?? Any giftie projects you’re planning, knitted or otherwise??

I knew I was going to be busy, but I…for some odd reason…didn’t think about how much it would impact my knitting.  I have knit a total of maybe 10 minutes this whole week.  Yes, 10 minutes…for the WEEK.  I’ve been so tired this week that even when I’m sitting still for a moment (in the car, on break at school) I just haven’t wanted to do anything.  Week one of school wasn’t bad, week two…meh… Week three..so-so…week four – kicking my ass.  Now that I’ve come to the exhaustion stage, my body will make peace with it and I should start feeling better.  It took me longer to get to this “dead-tired” point than I thought, but here I am…and I can’t even remember how to spell my name.  :-/

I really…..REALLLY…..am so friggin’ close to finishing that damn Frank hat…  I did the photo tutorials on the very few (two) tricky parts of the pattern and now all that’s left is a few “action” shots of the hat…the one’s I took last week were total crap (trying to take a decent “posed” photo of yourself sucks).  I will be enlisting Avery this weekend to help me out as my Frankie model…possibly tonight if we have time.  After that, it’s done.

She was my biggest support. I was perfect in her eyes. She made me feel better with just a word, or a smile. She made me feel like I could do anything, could take on the world and win. She made me feel special, loved beyond reason and never alone. She was the biggest influence in my life, the person that made me want to be a better person. She was most of my mind, heart and soul.

I can’t hear the word “sunshine”, look at a rose or lilac, eat an ear of corn, smell buttermilk or hear the Oakridge Boys without thinking of her.

She took a huge chunk of me with her when she left. My world will never be quite whole again. The edges are still raw, even after two years. I can’t talk about her without crying…can’t type about her either.

September 12th sucks. I wish I could just skip this day.

I miss you Mamaw…I can’t even begin to express how much.
